Beyoncé's loyal fanbase is coming for Madonna after the 59-year-old diva posted a doctored screengrab from the music video of "Apes***."

Madonna Angers Beyonce's Fanbase

On Friday, June 22, the "Material Girl" singer tried to remind everyone that she remains the Queen of Pop by posting an image of Queen Bey and husband/collaborator Jay-Z admiring art inside the Louvre in Paris. However, instead of paintings, the image was photoshopped with album covers of Madonna framed and propped into the wall.

"Learning from the Master... lol," Madge wrote on the caption.

The joke, however, drew anger and criticism from the fans who did not like the suggestion that the 36-year-old singer/dancer is, in any way, inferior to anyone. The BeyHive swarmed Madonna's social media pages, hurling insults at the 80s pop icon.

According to Page Six, the outrage forced the Michigan-born star to edit the caption of the photo several times. In the first edit, she changed "master" to "teacher." Right now, the caption reads, "Learning... lol."

Some fans pointed out that there is no reason for the BeyHive to attack Madonna. The two female singers have expressed their mutual admiration for each other in the past and are, in fact, good friends.

In an interview with Andy Cohen for EW, Madonna gushed about "great performer" Beyoncé.

"She's a professional, you know what I mean?" The "Like A Prayer" singer explained. "She ticks all the boxes. She's great live, and all the stuff around her, it's complete entertainment."

The "Drunk In Love" singer also spoke about how she looks up to Madonna.

"I felt like I wanted to follow the footsteps of Madonna and be a powerhouse and have my own empire and show other women when you get to this point in your career you don't have to go sign with someone else and share your money and your success — you do it yourself," Mrs. Carter told Billboard.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z recently dropped Everything is Love, their surprise joint album last week. The celebrity couple is also currently in the middle of the European leg of their "On The Run II" tour

Madonna Gives Update On Upcoming Album

Madonna, too, is expected to release new music this year. The diva has been working on her 14th album for a couple of months now and has been leaving hints to fans on her social media pages. Earlier this month, she confirmed that she has once again teamed up with Mirwais, the same man behind hits from American Life and Confessions on a Dance Floor

No album title nor release date has been announced as of this writing.
