Drake joined as a guest on the live broadcast of the Diddy's Instagram "dance-a-thon" fundraising project on Easter Sunday afternoon. During their conversation, host Diddy egged Drake to share what he had been doing in the studio. The Canadian rapper revealed he had been putting on work to come up with a new album.

The three-time Grammy-winning Drake further shared that the mandatory stay-at-home policy had become a source of motivation for him. Having so much time on his hands, he became more focused on creating his sixth studio LP. The rapper-singer-songwriter confirmed he had been working on it for a while and is "hyped" about his new venture.

"God's Plan" rapper called the quarantine caused by the coronavirus pandemic as another silver lining for him. He recalled the time when he tore his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in 2009, and the result was a great album from that experience. He was quoted as saying, "Obviously, God has us all inside the house right now," about the lockdown in many parts of the world. The amount of focus he had now is very different, as compared to being out in Vegas or Miami.

Toronto native Drake, 33, admitted this is the most exciting time he ever had in creating a new album in a long time. He shared that the stuff on the project is "fresh, it's brand new, and added that it is the "most music I've ever been sitting on."

No further details on the release date or album name were discussed, though.

"Toosie Slide" takeover of TikTok

Drake released his new sensational hit, "Toosie Slide" on April 3. The catchy danceable tune has taken over TikTok a few days before the song's full release. Several have tried out their version of choreographies from the song's teaser.

The song became even more popular when Toosie, the social media influencer, used the rapper's snippet as part of his dance steps on Twitter on March 29. Since then, it has been called the "Toosie Slide Challenge" and has crushed Tiktok tremendously. Celebrities have jumped on the trend with their versions of Drake's beat. The likes of Russell Wilson, the pregnant Ciara, and Tyga shared their moves on social media.

During Drake's appearance on Diddy Puffy's virtual fundraiser, the Combs family danced with Drake when he played "Toosie Slide." The kids put up to the beat, with better moves than the rapper, while Diddy showed his MJ moves.

Drake's "Scorpion"

Grammy-nominated. "Scorpion" was the last album Drake had dropped in 2018. A track from the double album, "God's Plan," won Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song. It was also nominated for Grammy Record of the Year and Song of the Year. "Scorpion," as confirmed by Nielsen Music, is 2018's most popular album in the United States. The 25-track double LP earned almost four million equivalent album unit sales. It was the most-streamed album in the same year, and was the first one to achieve one billion streams across all platforms.

"Scorpion" peaked at No. 1 on Billboard 200 in July 2018. The album remained on the chart for 98 weeks.
