BLACKPINK's Rosé just received a gift from John Mayer after doing a heartwarming cover of one of his songs.

Rosé, a member of the South Korean girl group BLACKPINK, shared a shocking update about the gift she got from Mayer himself.

In her recent Instagram Story, the vocalist shared photos of her new Roxy pink Silver Sky John Mayer model. The special instrument was exclusively made by PRS Guitars.

"Life is complete," Rosé captioned one of the stories before thanking and tagging the American singer. Meanwhile, the same photo showed a handwritten note from Mayer, saying "Rosé - I should be thank you! (So thank you.) - John."

The interaction came almost one month after the 24-year-old covered Mayer's hit song 'Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" during her appearance on the JTBC show "A Sea of Hope."

During that time, Mayer reposted the video from the official Twitter account of BLACKPINK, complimenting her for the "beautiful" cover.

The song, which connected the two, is part of Mayer's album "Continuum" in 2006. Until now, it remains one of his most popular creations.

Rosé To Show Shocking Performance

Apart from covering Mayer's song, Rosé also expressed her desire to cover Taylor Swift's "Dear John" in the next episode of the variety show.

For what it's worth, Swift made the song after she broke up with Mayer. The male singer once claimed that the song made him feel "really embarrassed." He told Rolling Stone that the lyrics made him feel terrible and think that he did not deserve it.

Their alleged relationship began in 2009. At that time, Swift was only 19 years old while Mayer was 32. Reports claimed that the duo was linked to each other after collaborating for the song "Half of My Heart."

However, their relationship did not last long as the "You Belong With Me" hitmaker released the song "Dear John" the following year. Swift, on the other hand, is famous for creating songs about her exes. Aside from Mayer, she also composed songs for her exes. Her famous "Teardrops On My Guitar" reportedly came from the experiences she had during her high school days. According to Swift, her unrequited crush on Drew Hardwick pushed her to create the masterpiece.

For now, fans need to wait until the next episode to confirm whether Rosé would bring back Swift and Mayer's past by singing the song.
