Lady Gaga: Jazz & Piano

A press statement states that the new series of concerts will "celebrate her love of the Great American Songbook," and that Gaga will add the songs from her duets album with Tony Bennett, "Love For Sale", to her repertoire for the residency.

The album, which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart, has subsequently been nominated for six Grammy Awards, including "Record of the Year" and "Album of the Year", among other awards.

With the launch of her critically acclaimed Enigma residency, which began in December 2018, Gaga brought Jazz & Piano to the world in January 2019.

Both concerts were initially intended to resume in spring 2020 but were subsequently canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the United States.

Several months after the release of her album Love For Sale, Gaga returned to her Jazz & Piano event for a nine-date run in October of the following year.

Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga

Tony Bennett was reportedly diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease last February 2021.

Despite the revelation on the jazz icon's health, with the help of his family, Bennett agreed to have his two final concerts with Lady Gaga, whom he is good friends with.

60 Minutes reported that although Bennett's family are unsure if Bennett will be able to pull it off, they believed that Tony's story could "give hope to others struggling with Alzheimer's".

Tony claimed in September 2012 that Lady Gaga had shown an interest in working with him on a jazz album.

Gaga and Tony performed at the last inaugural ball of President Obama's second inauguration in 2013.

Following the success of "Cheek to Cheek"'s debut album in 2014, the duo produced a follow-up album named "Love for Sale" in 2021.

Since their debut duet together more than a decade ago, Lady Gaga has been a dear friend and mentée of Tony's.
