Snoop Dogg has recently acquired control of a well-known record label. But what is he worth now that he has made such a large purchase?

The hitmaker of "Drop It Like It's Hot" has bought Death Row Records, the label that helped begin his highly prosperous career 30 years ago.

MNRK Music Group was purchased out by the 49-year-old.

The specifics of the contract were not disclosed at the time of writing, but it brought him back to his origins.

Death Row Records was founded by Dr. Dre, Suge Knight, Dick Griffey, and the DOC and quickly became one of the industry's top labels.

Along with Snoop, the company was responsible for introducing a number of culturally significant musicians, including Tupac Shakur, the late rapper and pop culture icon.

Despite all of the label's musicians' musical success, it was nevertheless embroiled in scandal when a few lawsuits were made against them due to illegal behavior.

Though Snoop Dogg now owns Death Row Records, Suge Knight, the label's co-founder, remains in prison.

The firm suffered financially during the previous several years, filing into bankruptcy in 2006 before being bought at auction by WIDEawake Entertainment three years later.

Death Row Records changed hands multiple times before falling into Snoop Dogg's hands.

Despite the fact that Snoop left Death Row under a cloud and signed with other companies after leaving the company, including No Limit Records, Capitol, and Def Jam, the hip-hop legend is said to be overjoyed to be back where it all began.

According to a statement he released, "It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members. This is an extremely meaningful moment for me."

He went on to say, "I would like to personally thank the teams at Blackstone, MNRK and especially David Kestnbaum, who worked collaboratively with me over several months to make this exciting homecoming a reality."
