Review:

Pop ballads are always a hit with music fans, but they've become progressively rare as of late. It's a shame to see how pop ballads allow a singer's personality and voice to shine. So when we visited and coming singer-songwriters Jessica Lynn released a new pop ballad and video mixed with country and rock sensibilities in the form of her new single, "The Morning Always Comes," we had to give it a closer look in a full review.

Ballads of this nature are somewhat tricky to attempt for many singers and songwriters. Those who dare to tackle the genre must be able to impress with technical prowess and clever songwriting. If one doesn't shine in either of these aspects, then it means that your music won't be memorable, and that's Jessica Lynn's challenge with this song.

So, how does "The Morning Always Comes," sound?

"The Morning Always Comes" excels in many different departments, and we enjoyed how well the song comes together paired with the video as a whole package. Songwriting and storytelling is one of those departments where Jessica Lynn gets to flex her skill as an artist. She vividly paints images in your head via cleverly written lines, effectively conveying emotions and circumstances through metaphors.

The single is all about the ups and downs of love in life. Shedding light on a unique viewpoint when it comes to love. It's painstakingly perceptive of the more minor details in a relationship, which is helped by Jessica's evocative style of songwriting. Of course, this would be nothing without some strong delivery, which is also pulled off with aplomb.

Jessica's voice is powerful when it needs to be, but also soothing and relaxed. While she's generally entirely controlled throughout the song's runtime, she's also fully capable of belting some strong lines as needed. Her delivery is precisely what sells the effect of the music to the maximum, allowing her to sound great and also excel as a storyteller.

Instrumentals here compliment the song perfectly, slowing down when needed and soaring with Jessica's high notes when they come around. The sound mixing here is excellent, allowing Jessica's voice to punch through without disrupting the instrumentals. The arrangement here is kept relatively simple, with just enough going on to keep things interesting.

Overall, "The Morning Always Comes" is an excellent single and video that's thought-provoking and emotional in all the best ways. It's effortless to empathize with Jessica's longing, pained singing. Paired with the strong songwriting, it makes "The Morning Always Comes" is an intensely compelling listen. It's a great release for a promising artist, and we're eager to see what she has in store next.
