Attention, "Funny Girl" fans! The brand new cast revival album soundtrack featuring Lea Michele is coming already!

Despite the tumultuous and controversial beginnings of Michele's casting on the revival production, the stars have finally aligned and led her to record the revival's official soundtrack.

Earlier this year, Broadway was put into the spotlight as Michele was cast as Fanny Brice on "Funny Girl," replacing exiting-Beanie Feldstein, who had received overwhelmingly negative reviews on her performance and debut.

Michele, who has been gunning for the role since her "Glee" days, was the obvious choice from the start of the production, which is why many were shocked at the production's choice to cast Feldstein, who had relatively no prior experience with stepping at Barbra Streisand's shoes.

According to Playbill, Michele will be recording as Fanny Brice on the upcoming "Funny Girl" Revival Cast album, featuring Ramin Karimloo, Jared Grimes, and even Tovah Feldsuh. Notably, Michele and Feldsuh belong to the rare roster of performers who weren't the debut actors in the role but were chosen to record the cast album.

The news broke out on Wednesday, Nov. 16, when Michele announced it after their curtain call.

"We have a little secret that we want to let you all in on. We're all so so proud to announce that we are going to be releasing our original cast Broadway album," Michelle revealed. "Everyone here who is working so incredibly hard every single night also worked so hard in the studio to make such an incredible album that I heard. And as the biggest Funny Girl fan my entire life, I'm so proud of it. It is so, so, so great."

As for the people online, they only knew about it as the speech was streamed on Instagram Live.

Michele was on track to perform the role of her life, as she had previously expressed how fond she was of her role. In the hit musical dramedy "Glee," which Michele was notably known for, her character, Rachel Berry, actually landed the role of Fanny Brice on the Broadway revival production of "Funny Girl" in the show - which is a mirror to her real-life achievements now.

Playbill noted that the "Funny Girl" 2022 Revival Production Soundtrack would be released digitally on Nov. 18, 2022, on streaming services. Meanwhile, the physical copy will be sold starting next year Jan. 20, 2023.
