Peter Frampton secured a deal with BMG and officially sold his catalog to the company.

BMG confirmed in a statement to Rolling Stone that it sealed its latest deal with Frampton with a major payout. It revealed that it acquired Frampton's publishing rights, including the rights to his song lyrics and musical compositions.

The acquisition also includes the singer's neighboring rights.

While fans should expect that the deal was a multi-million transaction, BMG refused to reveal how much it paid to obtain his catalog.

With that agreement, BMG now has the rights to Frampton's musical works from the time he started with The Herd in the 1960s until his most recent works as a soloist. His hit songs, "Show Me The Way," "Do You Feel Like We Do," and "Baby, I Love Your Way," also made it to the deal.

In response to the announcement, the singer expressed his excitement in a statement, writing, "I am so pleased to join the BMG family. As an artist-first company, I trust BMG will care for my legacy and that my songs are in good hands."

According to BMG's US president of repertoire and marketing, Thomas Scherer, the deal took three years to be completed. He noted that he and the company started talking to him two and a half years ago before taking a break.

It then resumed the talks six months ago.

"Peter Frampton is iconic, and he fits perfectly to our roster. The different artists and icons he was working with, Bowie, Harry Nilsson, along with the artists we work with, it fits perfectly. It fits our expertise, this is the music we know we can market," Scherer said.

Meanwhile, BMG SVP, business and legal affairs, Jeff Brabec said that the company is honored to represent Frampton's creative works. Brabec was also the one who oversaw and secured the deal.

Frampton has been a legendary musician who started his career as a child guitarist. He started creating his empire when he was 16, helping The Herd to have three British Top 10 hits.

At the young age of 18, he already co-founded Humble Pie and recorded four studio albums with the supergroup.

Throughout his career, Frampton already dropped 18 studio albums and four live albums.

His most recent works include the 2019 album, "All Blues," which stayed on Billboard's Blues chart's No. 1 for 15 weeks.
