Paul McCartney's daughter revealed that The Beatles member nearly got into an accident while trying to recreate the band's famous crosswalk image.

McCartney's daughter Mary McCartney talked about the history of The Beatles' iconic crosswalk photo in her documentary, "If These Walls Could Sing." As part of it, her father agreed to do the walk again, but it almost caused the singer to get involved in an accident.

She shared further details about it in an interview with The Mirror. She revealed that a car did not stop for him when she was about to take a picture of her father.

"The bit where the car nearly ran him over on the zebra crossing, that was so funny," she said. "As we were leaving [the studio], I said, 'I'll film you [on the crossing],' and he went over, and this car totally didn't stop for him!"

McCartney and his former bandmates - John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr - posed for the now-iconic photograph for its 1969 album, "Abbey Road." Photographer Ian Macmillan took the photo of the four musicians on a crosswalk in London's St. John's Wood neighborhood.

The location was near the EMI Studios, where they recorded the album and most of The Beatles' albums.

The crosswalk became famous among other artists and tourists. Beatles tour guide Richard Porter told the Associated Press that people who visit the area always recreate the photo on the crossing.

"I've seen lots of different sights on the crossing, too, from couples having their wedding photos taken to people going across naked," he said.

Mary McCartney Nervous About Father Paul's Reaction to Her Documentary

Elsewhere in her interview, the filmmaker revealed how nervous she felt about showing the film to her 80-year-old father. She reportedly brought him to a movie theater while hoping he would love it.

The next day, someone told her that they had seen McCartney, who talked about her documentary to other people. Per Mary, working on something her father is passionate about truly pleased him.

In December, she told People during the film's premiere in New York City that she began working on it after seeing a 1977 photo of her parents.

Her mother, Linda, died of cancer in 1998. Although the matriarch is no longer here to appear in her film, Mary managed to get her father on board. "If These Walls Could Sing" can also be watched on Disney+.
