Justin Bieber was originally selected to lead Coachella this year, but the singer reportedly turned down the organizers.
A news outlet revealed what happened in a report saying Bieber declined the offer to lead this year's Coachella music festival. Still, it noted that he may be part of the 2024 event.
It was revealed that the "Sorry" hitmaker had to reject the offer to focus on his new album. Instead of Bieber, Coachella listed Bad Bunny, BLACKPINK, and Frank Ocean as the headliners of the festival at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California.
This ultimately dismissed the potential rumors that Bieber's health issue might have something to do with his decision.
For what it's worth, Hailey Bieber's husband canceled several shows of his Justice World Tour amid his battle against Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. He first talked about the condition in a video and showed signs of partial facial paralysis.
According to the National Organization for Rare Disorders, Justin Bieber's condition is a rare neurological disorder caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV). It can cause chickenpox in children and shingles (herpes zoster) in adults.
It is widely known that the virus causes highly contagious chickenpox and shingles. However, Healthline clarified that the Ramsay Hunt Syndrome itself is not infectious on its own.
Experts have since commented on his illness and said it would take him months to recover from it. Mount Sinai Center for Headache and Facial Pain neurologist, Dr. Anna Pace told "TODAY" show that young and healthy people can recover quickly.
Justin Bieber Receives Challenge
Amid his health battle, Bieber recently received a challenge from Disturb's frontman, David Draiman who told him to "smoke off."
On Twitter, Draiman wrote, "Hey , I hear you're in #amsterdam! So am I! I challenge you to a smoke off!!! @justinbieber" he writes, along with the hashtags, "#CannabisCommunity #cannabisculture."
Bieber is yet to respond to his statement, but Draiman has been open about his struggles with drugs.

He told Revolver that his strong ties to Judaism made him follow several rules, including not talking to girls. The singer said the restraint caused him to become more rebellious, eventually leading to his drug use.
"When you're forced to live a very, very restrictive life as an adolescent, it's not an easy thing. You see all the things that everybody else around you has, and you want them," he said. "And that created a rebellion of sorts."
