Slipknot member Jay Weinberg wore a new mask during the band's appearance at Knotfest Japan.

While Slipknot is promoting "The End, So Far" LP through tours in several countries and cities, the band was also tapped to appear at Knotfest Japan. The highly-anticipated roadshow was held on April 1, with its day 2 happening at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall the next day.

During Slipknot's performance, eagle-eyed fans noticed Weinberg's new mask, and they immediately showered him with compliments due to its design.

Slipknot Member Jay Weinberg Has New Mask

Before Slipknot's official performance, Weinberg already teased fans by sharing a few images of his mask on his social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

He revealed that he collaborated with Japanese artist Solid Blackline to create his new "identity."

"The organic, flowing shapes of his high-contrast designs evoke feelings of mysticism and beauty, balanced within the duality of chaos and order one feels as a visitor in this wondrous country," part of the caption reads.

Weinberg said that he decided to change his mask to share the band's love for Japan and its culture.

He soon uploaded another photo of the mask and several clips from Slipknot's Knotfest performances.

Among the comments read: "illest mask ever," "cool mask," and "best mask."

The idea of having Slipknot members wear a mask began when Clown suggested the concept before the band's first-ever gig on Halloween in 1995.

"A few of them were like, 'No f**king way. You can't be the only guy wearing some stupid mask'," he recalled. "So I said, 'I really don't care what you think, this is who I am and this is what I'm going to do.' So here we are all these years later..."

Days before Weinberg introduced his new mask, Slipknot's frontman Corey Taylor also debuted a new look at Knotfest Australia.

While wearing his mask, the singer and the band members also wore hats throughout their performance.
