After Megan Thee Stallion gave Twain the Equal Play award, the crooner delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech in which she expressed how she believes in "all-inclusive country music."

"This is a genre of music with a rich history that raised and nurtured my own songwriting and performance and recording career from childhood," she said. "Currently, the industry standard does a real disservice to this."

She also pledged to continue to champion the country artists and musicians who are yet to be played and streamed and those who are yet to tour and receive the "award they deserve."
