Beyoncé and Jay-Z recently made headlines as they proved their wealth to the public by purchasing the most expensive house in California.

More recently, the billionaire couple even proved their fortune after reports claim that the pair paid for the estate in cash.

According to sources who spoke with a news outlet, the two musicians paid a staggering $200 million in cash for the 30,000 square-foot property in Malibu.

The house was previously owned by William Bell, who is considered to be one of the most popular art collectors globally.

In early reports, the couple's new home was designed by Tadao Ando, the Japanese architect who also designed Kanye West's $57.3 million mansion.

The property spans over 30,000 square feet. It features a very modern design as the exterior is mostly concrete. It took Ando 15 years to build the massive house.

It appears that the couple got a great deal with the price despite it costing them hundreds of millions of dollars as Page Six reported that the property was initially listed for $295 million but they only got it for $95 million less.

In addition to being the most expensive home in California, it is also the second in the United States next to the $238 million apartment in New York City.

Beyoncé, Jay-Z Net Worth 2023

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are some of the most powerful and influential public figures in the world, having billions of dollars worth of fortune combined.

The pop star, who's currently touring around the world for her "Renaissance" tour concerts, has an estimated net worth of $500 million as of May 2023.

On the other hand, her husband is the richest rapper in the world with a fortune worth a massive $2.5 billion.

In 2021, the musicians starred in a Tiffany & Co. ad campaign where they gave fans a glimpse of their art collection, including an artwork by Jean-Michel Basquiat that was never been seen by the public before.

ARTnews reported that the piece was purchased by the rapper at Sotheby's for a whopping $4.2 million in 2013.

However, the couple amassed criticism from Basquiat's friend Alexis Adler, saying she was "horrified" by the matter because "the commercialization and commodification of Jean and his art at this point - it's really not what Jean was about."
