Summer is upon us, and Spotify is predicting what songs will make this coming seasons blaze up in heat on the charts, streams, and radios worldwide!
Among the songs included on the recent Spotify Songs of the Summer Predictions were from current chart leaders, including ones from Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen, two of the biggest artists in the world right now.
Spotify Songs of the Summer Prediction
According to Variety, Spotify released a list of their official predictions of what the Songs of the Summer would be. Per the streaming giant, the predictions were based on a few factors - this include their current streaming data, their expected trajectory, and forecasting from their global team.
Aside from the release of the prediction list, the streaming platform also released its Summer Heat Map, a real-time chart that shows which top songs of the summer were being streamed in countries all over the world.
"To help visualize what's hot worldwide, we've created a map that highlights the most popular tunes in more than 100 countries across the Northern Hemisphere. The map will update weekly, starting May 27, to show the latest sizzling tracks from different countries," the company said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the recent Spotify Songs of the Summer prediction playlist are already live on the streaming platform.

Spotify Songs of the Summer: Taylor Swift vs Morgan Wallen vs Barbie Songs?
According to the recently updated playlist, Taylor Swift's "Cruel Summer," a song from "Lover," is one of the most streamed songs with a "Summer" title on the list. Spotify noted that this song was "seasonally relevant."
Notably, Morgan Wallen's current Billboard Hot 100 chart leader, "Last Night," was also present on the list.
The presence of the two tracks on the Songs of the Summer prediction playlist on Spotify could mean that the two might be battling head-to-head for the title of Song of the Summer this year.
However, the two tracks shouldn't be the only thing to be considered for the title. Dua Lipa's "Dance The Night Away" from the Barbie Soundtrack is a solid front runner too. Once the entire star-studded soundtrack for the highly-anticipated film drops, we could expect some tracks like "Barbie World" by Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, and Aqua to be included, too, among many others.
