Fan Wars Affected Taylor Swift, Matty Healy's Relationship?

The Sun reported that Taylor Swift broke up with The 1975 frontman after sustaining pressure from her fans. While this should be taken with a grain of salt as the singer never addressed her relationship nor gave the reason behind the reported split, the news outlet shared the fan wars that purportedly "destroyed" the romance.

The "Lover" singer's fans published an open letter to express their disapproval of the romance and shared the multiple controversies Healy got into that made him undeserving of Swift.

It cited a post shared on Reddit in which a fan said, "I just cannot fathom why she would throw away all of her goodwill, all of her positive focus on her success for someone as awful as (Healy)."

Their fury was rooted in his past controversies, including his February appearance on "The Adam Friedland Show" when he made "racist and misogynistic" comments when he laughed at Ice Spice's appearance.

He also shared the story of how he was caught by his friends as he watched NSFW material. Healy already apologized for his comments, but he sparked another controversy when he seemingly did a Nazi salute on stage.

Swifties Penned Open Letter to Taylor Swift

Amid the damaging reports, Swifties wrote a letter to the "Midnights" singer and told her why Healy was not good enough for her.

"From engaging in racist remarks, making offensive jokes and admitting to watching degrading pornography, his actions contribute to the perpetuation of hate, stereotypes and objectification," the fans wrote.

They also urged Healy to reflect on the impact of his behavior and undergo self-reflection. Although Swift did not respond to it, she surprised everyone when she dropped a remix of her song, "Karma," featuring Ice Spice.

She released the track a day after her last public outing with The 1975 frontman.
