Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe debuted a new look amid the band's 2023 tour, with the singer ditching his nearly 10-year-old dreadlocks.

Blythe and his band held their latest show at the Festival D'été De Québec festival in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, on Wednesday as they joined more than 200 artists in the 11-day event. They also surprised fans who had been used to seeing the singer with his dreadlocks, as he opted to perform with a newly-shaved head.

Randy Blythe's New Look

Lamb of God wowed the crowd during their Quebec, Canada, appearance by performing a total of 15 songs, including "Memento Mori," "Walk With Me in Hell," "Now You've Got Something to Die For," "Set to Fail," "Desolation," and "512."

The band also performed "Laid to Rest" and "Redneck" during the encore.

Following the performance, Lamb of God's official Instagram page shared a carousel of photos featuring the band members playing at the festival, and fans dominated the comments section as they talked about Blythe's new look.

"Who's the new singer?" one quipped, while another approved the move and wrote, "It was time for the dreads to go."

Fan-captured videos also recorded Blythe's first performance after completely cutting off his dreadlocks, and he is expected to keep the do when Lamb of God heads on the US tour with Pantera this summer.

It was not the first time he shocked fans with his style, though. He previously had an emo-like hairstyle, typical rocker's long hair, and tussled shorter hair. Blythe also went plain bald during the Lamb of God's "Sacrament" era.

Story Behind Randy Blythe's Dreadlocks

Before cutting his hair, the Lamb of God frontman sat for an interview with Ketagalan Media (via Blabbermouth) in 2018, during which he explained how his dreads started after stopping combing his hair four years prior.

"I surf all the time, so it just started getting tangled and I got tired of trying it brush it out. This is what my hair does anyway," he said. "And it's all blonde from being bleached in the seawater. It's not like colored or anything."

Due to his interesting dreadlocks, Metal Hammer asked him in 2020 how much someone could pay to have him shave his head. Blythe hit back and said he "does not do stupid things for money."
