Animals as Leaders expressed their heartbreak after the sudden death of their guitar tech, Dave Cohen.

The music industry mourned following the emergence of reports confirming Cohen's unexpected death following a "concert-related accident." The guitar tech was spending a night off from Animals as Leaders' current tour when he passed away.

Dave Cohen's Cause of Death Revealed

Initial reports said Cohen was at a Counterparts' concert at the Pub Station in Billings, Montana, on Sunday when he died from an apparent concert-related death. A since-deleted Reddit post revealed that a Counterparts fan died after "getting knocked out" at the group's show, and he was soon identified as the Animals as Leaders guitar tech.

Another thread under Metalcore's sub-Reddit said the Sunday show ended early after the accident that left Cohen in critical condition.

"He took an elbow to the face, lost consciousness and never regained it," one revealed. "Paramedics tried all they could. They performed CPR and used defibrillators after he was having a seizure. It was very sad to see. R.I.P., prayers to his friends and family."

On the other hand, one Reddit user claimed he works at the venue and disclosed they had been dealing with the accident for hours, clarifying it was not a moshing accident. According to the user, the man - Cohen - was at the barside when he fell, leading the responders and people who witnessed the event to assume he died of cardiac arrest.

They also called the accidental blow that led to his death "an unfortunate tragedy."

Cohen's family has yet to release a statement addressing the tragic event. Details about his funeral and memorial also remain unknown.
