Sinead O'Connor reportedly told her kids what they should do if she died earlier than expected.

O'Connor's family announced her death Wednesday, over a year after her son, Shane, died by suicide. The Irish singer is survived by her three remaining children - Jake Reynolds, Roisin Waters, and Yeshia Bonadio - who reportedly received instructions from her on what they should do in the wake of her death.

What Sinead O'Connor Told Her Kids About Own Funeral

In an exclusive interview with People in 2021, O'Connor spoke about her memoir, "Rememberings," and explained how she protected her art and finances with the help of her kids if she died unexpectedly.

The "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer told her then-young children to call her accountant first before calling 911 so record companies would not release her records and tell them "where the money" was.

"See, when the artists are dead, they're much more valuable than when they're alive," she said. "Tupac has released way more albums since he died than he ever did alive, so it's kind of gross what record companies do."

O'Connor took Prince as an example after the late singer died in 2016. At that time, record labels profited off his music following his demise, making the Irish singer angry whenever she thought about how the companies "raped" Prince's vault.

According to the "This Is the Day" singer, musicians have songs they feel embarrassed about that they do not want anyone to hear them. However, after Prince's songs were released after his passing, O'Connor predicted how he would be unable to stomach hearing his "Let's Go Crazy" becoming part of a credit card commercial, especially since the track was about appreciation, love, and friendship.

Sinead O'Connor's Final Moments Explored

Amid the lack of information regarding Sinead O'Connor's cause of death, London's Metropolitan Police said they found her unresponsive in a London flat and pronounced her dead at the scene.

The Met police, however, clarified that her death is not being treated as suspicious, though it would take them months before the completion of the autopsy.

"No medical cause of death was given," the report said, per Reuters. "The coroner, therefore, directed an autopsy to be conducted. The results of this may not be available for several weeks," the court said in a statement."
