Taylor Swift is not just huge in the United States - her influence and impact internationally can be seen in the global box office success of "Taylor Swift: The Eras" tour. Just for the career milestone alone, she earned the recognition of being 2023's Artist of the Year.

Apple Music was the first one so far to recognize that as they crowned the Grammy-winning singer as their Artist of the Year.

Apple Music Artist of the Year: Taylor Swift

In a press release, Apple Music crowned Swift with the prestigious honor, following Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Lil Baby, and Billie Eilish.

"I am so honored to be Apple Music's Artist of the Year. Thank you to every single one of you for making this year the most incredible, joyful, celebratory year ever. From streaming the music nonstop to screaming it together in real life at the shows, dancing chaotically in movie theaters, none of this would have been possible without you. Thank you so much," Swift said of the recognition.

Notably, in the first 10 months of 2023, Swift had 65 of her songs chart on the Apple Music Global Top 100, the most for any artist in the streaming platform's history.

Apple Music also noted that Taylor Swift's streaming activity has significantly risen throughout 2023, thanks to "The Eras" tour and the subsequent film. In March 2023, when the tour started in Glendale, Arizona, Swift's stream skyrocketed to 61% globally.

Her setlist playlist for the concert tour was the most streamed setlist on the platform in 2023. Songs like "Blank Space," "Style," "Shake It Off," "Wildest Dreams," "All of the Girls You Loved Before" and "Bad Blood" all reached the Apple Music charts in 2023.

Swift's biggest hit to date is the recently-released single from her 2019 album, "Lover," - "Cruel Summer." The song has since reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, four years after it was released. It has never left the Global Daily Top 100 since April 2023.

Her album, "Midnights" is still the most streamed album of all time by a female artist in Apple Music history based on first-day and first-week streams.

"Taylor Swift's impact on music is absolutely undeniable - not just this record-breaking year, but throughout her entire career," Apple Vice President and Apple Music and Beats Vice President Oliver Schusser said in a statement. "She is a generation-defining artist and a true change agent in the music industry, and there is no doubt that her impact and influence will be felt for years to come. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate her achievements."
