Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter have been rumored to be in a years-long feud, however, a picture of the singers seemingly hugging it out has gone viral and caused fans to think that the beef is squashed and all is well between the two.

According to reports, though, the picture of the two hugging on the red carpet of the Variety Hitmakers Awards is fake.

The photo-edited picture of Rodrigo and Carpenter has gone viral, and it has been shared on several different social media platforms.

Fans of both singers hope for it to be true, "The closest we're gonna get," one wrote dejectedly.

"You know what, I'll take it," another added.

"This is done so well."

Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter's 'Feud' History

While many refer to the "thing" going on between the "Vampire" singer and the "Nonsense" singer as a feud, no one from either of their teams has confirmed nor denied the allegations.

However, several glaring factors might suggest that the two are not particularly friends.

According to reports, the drama between the two began two years ago when Rodrigo released her chart-topping viral hit song "Drivers License," which is rumored to be about her ex-boyfriend Joshua Bassett.

The song alludes to a love triangle, and many suspect that the "blonde girl" that Rodrigo sings about is Carpenter.

"You're probably with that blonde girl / Who always made me doubt / She's so much older than me / She's everything I'm insecure about," she sings in "Drivers License."

Several other songs included in the "Good 4 U" singer's debut album "Sour," seemingly allude to the relationship and the "other woman" like "Traitor."

In her recently released album, "GUTS," Rodrigo has a song titled "Lacy," which many think is about Carpenter, as well.

" "Smart, sexy Lacy, I'm losin' it lately / I feel your compliments like bullets on skin / Dazzling starlet, Bardot reincarnate / Well, aren't you the greatest thing to ever exist?" Rodrigo sings in "Lacy."

Meanwhile, Carpenter released a song titled "Because I Liked a Boy," which references the tough times she experienced after being linked to Bassett and Rodrigo.

"Now I'm a homewrecker, I'm a slut / I got death threats filling up semi-trucks / Tell me who I am, guess I don't have a choice / All because I liked," Carpenter sings in the chorus of the song.

Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift

Prior to her alleged fall-out with Taylor Swift, Rodrigo was always with the singer, and they were dubbed as mother and daughter by fans.

However, after the song credits the fiasco surrounding Rodrigo's "Deja Vu," the two have not been seen hanging out.

Meanwhile, Carpenter is opening "The Eras" tour for Swift's shows in Latin America, Australia, and Singapore.
