Diplo has been accused of allegedly distributing revenge porn by the same woman he has been legally entangled with since 2020.

The woman, who had identified as Shelly Auguste, has been accusing him of the same deed since 2020. The two even sought dual restraining orders back then that have been extended multiple times.

Diplo Lawsuit Details

According to Pitchfork, a police report was filed at the Los Angeles Police Department against Diplo last August 2023. It accused him of distributing nude photographs of Shelly Auguste without her knowing consent.

Since then the LAPD had forwarded her case to the City Attorney's office in November, which is still under review.

According to the case, Auguste filed for gender violence, sexual battery, intentional intrusion into private affairs, assault, battery, defamation, even intentional infliction of emotional stress, and fraud, among many others. They are scheduled for a civil trial in April 2024.

Diplo's attorney told Pitchfork that Auguste "has been orchestrating an ongoing smear campaign."

"Now, Ms. Auguste is at it yet again. But Wes will defend himself, and, just as he has done every time Ms. Auguste has defamed, harassed and attacked him and his family, he will win," the lawyer added.

Diplo Sued By Same Woman Twice

In 2020, Auguste had already accused Diplo of the same crimes before. She alleged that he distributed "revenge porn" photographs of her to "humiliate her and to scare other women out of coming forward." (via Rolling Stone)

Auguste even claimed that Diplo hired a private investigator after they had an argument.

"The private investigator stated to me that he knew my address, he knew my parents address, he knew my place of work as well as my parents place to work," she said at the time. "Take that as you may but most people will take that as a threat."

Diplo denied all wrongdoings at the time, dismissing the woman's accusations as mere "obsessed fan behavior.

"She was an obsessed fan of mine, and after I relinquished all contact with her, it appears that her only purpose in life has been to disrupt my work, my business, harass me and my close friends and attack me and threaten my family," he said in 2021.

As for Auguste, he had this to say about Diplo and other men who have been accused of assault.

"I think it's time the music industry stops enabling the perpetual abuse that occurs," she told Rolling Stone. "I have been silenced for far too long. I hope that with this restraining order I can finally gain peace and protection. I hope that with the criminal investigation, the justice system gets it right this time."
