Lil Nas X has been a Barb all this time. Although he and Minaj have not publicly acknowledged each other because of the fallout, Lil Nas X is making himself known that he is a Barb through and through, despite the community already disowning him.

In a new clip, Lil Nas X released his own remix of "FTCU," one of Nicki Minaj's biggest hits on the album, "Pink Friday 2."

Lil Nas X channeled Nas Maraj, her alias back when he was still running an anonymous Nicki Minaj fan account before he shot to fame.

In the uploaded clip, Lil Nas X sits in a chair while the track blasts on the stereo in the studio.

"We gone f*ck that club up, We gone throw some dubs up.If you broke, ain't got no money, n**** shut the f*ck up. Shout out Miss Onika Tonya, that's my mama, that's on God. If you f*cking up the club, hit up Nas Maraj," he rapped. "I am in and in and out of town, ATL underground I stay in the South, been in Houston mo' than Bobby Brown. F*ck this society, I do things in my way. It's Onika and Lil Nassy, it's a Pink-er Friday,"

It is not known whether Lil Nas X would actually release the song, with or without Nicki Minaj's clearance.

Are Lil Nas X, Nicki Minaj Friends?

Despite being a die-hard Barb before he shot to fame, Lil Nas X and Nicki Minaj's relationship is quite hairy. (via Nicki Swift)

When he was still starting as a rapper, Lil Nas X was linked with the fan account Nas Maraj, saying that he was the one who ran it. However, he denied any involvement.

Speaking to NPR, Lil Nas X had this to say: "It's like a big misunderstanding and it's not one that I even want to give the time because I'm never putting someone as the face of my career. So I don't even speak on it. I just don't even acknowledge it, really."

However, the move to dissociate himself from Nicki Minaj impacted his relationship with the loyal community and Minaj herself.

Lil Nas X then invited Nicki Minaj publicly for a collaboration, but instead of Minaj's approval, he was met with criticism from her fans. Lil Nas X then revealed that he didn't want to link himself with Minaj because he didn't want to reveal his sexuality, noting that the rap scene weren't fully accepting gay rappers at the time.

"It was a bit of a sting when you denied being a barb, but I understand," Minaj told Lil Nas X. "Congratulations on building up your confidence to speak your truth."

Since then the two had never publicly interacted again.
