Nicki Minaj is one gracious rapper and artist. She has collaborated with countless up-and-coming artists who went on to have great careers in the rap genre.

Some of them were Megan Thee Stallion, Ice Spice, Cardi B, Sexyy Red, BIA, JT, and even Doja Cat.

However, recently, people online have been trying to decode Nicki Minaj's recent interview with Funny Marco.

Nicki Minaj 'Cowgirl' Featured Artist Fiasco Explained

When "Pink Friday 2" was released, many fans thought that the Lourdiz collaboration seemed to fit another artist instead. In consensus, Barbz pointed out that Doja Cat seemed to be the perfect person that Nicki Minaj should have collaborated with on the track.

Doja Cat is among the popular artists that many fans have hoped for to be in "Pink Friday 2."

In a new Funny Marco interview, Marco asked Minaj if there was a moment in her career when she asked someone for a feature and it didn't materialize. Minaj admitted that there was actually a time, specifically in "Pink Friday 2" - "Cowgirl."

Apparently, this "person" that Minaj referred to had actually recorded the song already and sent it out back to Minaj. However, as Minaj pushed the release date of "Pink Friday 2," this "person" then recanted the verse, saying that they were in a "different era."

However, this person's people patched things up and insisted on pushing the collaboration, which Minaj agreed to. But, she then revealed that there were some comments from the "person" who wanted to pull the plug on the record again because they thought that Minaj didn't like them. As soon as the interview got traction, fans speculated that this must have been Doja Cat.

Fans Believe Nicki Minaj 'Cowgirl' Was Supposed To Be For Doja Cat

Twitter/X user @erysctrl unrolled the history of the alleged timeline of Nicki Minaj and Doja Cat's "Cowgirl" invite. On a Stationhead live session on Dec. 9, 2023, Minaj talked about the recanting of verse by this particular "person."

Minaj, seemingly upset on the said recanting, voiced out her frustrations on Stationhead, explaining that there were artists she would always do a feature for, just based on how much they "inspired" her, even pointing out that they had to do a feature while she was pregnant and the person didn't return the favor & she felt used.

In the past months, Doja Cat had publicly opened up about trying to change her sound from pop to hardcore rap.

Fans believe that this was actually Doja Cat that Nicki was talking about.
