    Junior Boys, the moniker for the Canadian electronic pop duo consisting of Jeremy Greenspan and Matt Didemus, have announced the release of their first new album in five years, "Big Black Coat." The forthcoming LP is due out February 5 via City Slang. The announcement was accompanied by the album's first single and title track, "Big Black Coat."

    October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so Australian electronic DJ/production duo NERVO have launched their own awareness campaign, TITTIES TITTIES YEAH (#TTY). As announced on the NERVO sisters' artist page, the first ladies of EDM are collaborating with the philanthropic lifestyle brand Electric Family to sell custom bracelets while sharing cancer prevention and early detection information with their fans via social media; they are also "teaming up with F*ck Cancer and hosting some parties where all the proceeds will go towards funding mammograms and providing free breast cancer screenings."
  • Kylie Minogue Reads Nick Cave's 1996 Rejection Letter to MTV [WATCH]

    In 1996, Nick Cave (of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds) penned a now-notorious letter to MTV requesting they rescind his Video Music Awards nomination for Best Male Artist. In his letter, Cave asserts "my muse is not a horse and I am in no horse race." Now, Kylie Minogue has read the rejection letter as a part of the Letters Live video series from the literary correspondence website Letters of Note.
  • Producer DUCKY Releases New EP 'Lost Angeles,' Streaming on NEST HQ [LISTEN]

    LA-based electronic producer DUCKY has dropped an ethereal new three-track EP, Lost Angeles, through Skrillex's free label NEST HQ. "Rain Dance," the entrancing track found at the center of the ambient techno house release, premiered last week on Anna Lunoe's Beats 1 show.     The veteran electronic dance music producer Moby has announced his new Moby & the Void Pacific Choir project and released several new tracks. Listen to "Almost Loved" and "The Light is Clear in My Eyes" below. As reported by Stereogum, no one "yet know[s] what's going on with Moby and his mysterious new project Moby & The Void Pacific Choir," but speculations about a new full-length album are probably not far off.
  • Eartheater Releases New Album 'R.I.P. Chrysalis' [LISTEN]

    Eartheater, the solo project of Guardian Alien frontwoman Alexandra Drewchin, has shared her new album, RIP Chrysalis, via Hausu Mountain. It is the Queens-based psychedelic cyborg singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist's second full-length album released this year. You can stream it now via Eartheater's BandCamp page.
  • French Band Caravan Palace Streaming New Electro-Swing Album [LISTEN]

    French electronic/jazz fusion group Caravan Palace have released their new full-length album, <|°_°|>, via Le Plan Records. Using a series of keyboard characters as a title that has been commonly translated as Robot despite the band's insistence via their Facebook that listeners should refer to the album as anything they wish, the Parisian electronic big band's third album premiered on KCRW and is now also streaming on Spotify and available for purchase through the band's website.
  • Warpaint's Theresa Wayman, Hot Chip's Jones, All We Are's Gikling Launch BOSS Project [LISTEN]

    Warpaint vocalist/guitarist Theresa Wayman, All We Are bassist Guro Gikling and drummer Sarah Jones from both Hot Chip and Yeasayer, have announced their new project, BOSS. The trio will officially release I'm Down With That on November 27 via Dan Carey's Speedy Wunderground (known for working with Bat for Lashes, The Kills, Franz Ferdinand and Chairlift, among others) as a limited 7". The B side will feature Carey's dub remix of the same track, entitled "Mr Dan's I'm Dub With That." You can listen to both tracks via Speedy Wunderground's Soundcloud, below.
  • WATCH The Muppets' Swedish Chef Covers Sia's 'Chandelier'

    The Muppet known as the Swedish Chef has paused from making popcorn for just long enough to record and release a video of him Bork Bork Bork-ing his way through Sia's "Chandelier." Aptly renamed "Cherndelifer," the cover is the product of Brock Baker, the comedian also known as the McGoiter of YouTube fame. Watch the video below.

    Electronic artist Manic Focus (aka John "JmaC" McCarten) has just released a bootleg remix of Tracy Chapman's "Give Me One Reason," giving the 90s hit a funky electro-soul makeover. "Give Me One Reason (Manic Focus Remix)" premiered last week on This Song Is Sick and is available for free download via Manic Focus' Soundcloud; you can give it a listen below.

    Miley Cyrus' transformation into one of the freaks of the indie music world is nearly complete. After surprising the world with her collaboration with Wayne Coyne and other Flaming Lips members on 'Miley Cyrus and her Dead Petz,' the singer and The Flaming Lips are readying the kick-off of their US tour together and have since revealed that Dan Deacon will be joining them as the opening act.
  • Joanna Newsom Slams Spotify, Compares it to a Rotten Banana

    Joanna Newsom's first album in five years, 'Divers,' drops next week, but don't expect to find it on Spotify. The harp-playing singer-songwriter slammed the music-streaming service in a recent interview, calling it "the banana of the music industry," asserting that "it just gives off a fume. You can just smell that something's wrong with it."

    Bass house producer Wave Racer dropped his debut EP Flash Drive today. The release comes via the Australian label Future Classic (home of Cashmere Cat, Flight Facilities and Flume among others) and features collaborations with Cosmo's Midnight, Lido, and Baby.
