One of the strangest and funniest music feuds in recent memory was the -- mostly -- one-sided battle between Sun Kil Moon and The War on Drugs from last year, throughout which War on Drugs frontman Adam Granduciel tried his best to take the high road and remain silent about the whole thing. Now, in a new interview with "Uncut," Granduciel has opened up a bit more about the feud, telling Sun Kil Moon frontman Mark Kozelek to "get over" himself and suggesting that Kozelek was perhaps "playing this part" instead of being genuinely outraged. -
Music Times 25 Best Songs of 2014: Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Hozier, St. Vincent & More
2014 was the year of a thousand controversies: Taylor Swift pulled all of her music from Spotify, Sun Kil Moon started a feud with The War On Drugs, Jack White accused The Black Keys of ripping him off (again), and almost nobody went platinum. Sun Kil Moon Shares 'Adam Granofsky Blues, Continues Feud with War on Drugs
The saga continues. Just one day after War on Drugs frontman Adam Granduciel finally addressed his bizarre feud with Mark Kozelek of Sun Kil Moon in an interview with "Songs for Whoever," calling him an "idiot," a "prick" and a "douche," among other things, Kozelek shared a new song titled "Adam Granofsky Blues" — Granofsky being Granduciel's actual last name. In this new song, Kozelek reads Granduciel's quotes about the situation over some blues guitar licks, laughing hysterically between each line. -
The War on Drugs Open Up about Sun Kil Moon, Call Mark Kozelek An 'Idiot'
Throughout the whole Sun Kil Moon vs. The War on Drugs debacle/feud/spectacle, War on Drugs frontman Adam Granduciel remained nobly tight-lipped, even though it would have been easy for him to fire back. But in a new interview with music blog "Songs for Whoever," Granduciel finally opens up about the situation, calling Sun Kil Moon’s Mark Kozelek an “idiot” and a “prick,” among other things, revealing what was happening behind the scenes of their previously one-sided feud.
