The FIFA Ballon d'Or is easily one of the most coveted awards to receive in the world of football because the winner is deemed the best player in the world. After revealing over twenty footballers on an extended shortlist earlier this year, three finalists were named this week. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are competing once again for the prize, but are joined by rising star Neymar Jr. as well in 2015. FIFA Announces 2015 Ballon d'Or, UEFA Champions League Players Shortlist: Betting Odds!
Ahead of this week's UEFA Champions League 2015 group stages games, FIFA announced the shortlist of players that make up the possible nominees, and therefore winners, of the football world's most coveted award, the Ballon d'Or. Last year, Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo won. Lionel Messi has won four times. This trophy usually goes to these two, but this shortlist has some newcomers that could possibly take it home.
