The 26th annual Tibet House Benefit Concert is scheduled to take over New York City's Carnegie Hall on February 22, 2016 and the initial lineup has just been announced. As usual, this coming year's lineup is pretty musically diverse including former Stooges frontman Iggy Pop, contemporary minimalist composer Philip Glass, funk and soul revival pioneer Sharon Jones, FKA Twigs, Basia Bulat and Dechen Shak-Dagsay and Helge van Dyk. -
Polaris Music Prize Shortlist Announced: Arcade Fire, Drake, Mac DeMarco, And More
Pitchfork reports that the shortlist of nominees for the 2014 Polaris Music Prize has been revealed. The recipient of the annual award, which honors the best Canadian album of the year, "is selected by a large panel of Canadian journalists and broadcasters," and will be announced on September 22 at the Polaris Gala. The winner also receives a prize of $30,000.
