  • Dalai Lama to Give Speech at Glastonbury '15

    Glastonbury has always had a social awareness component to it since the modern Glastonbury Festival was founded in the 1970s. According to reports, the legendary festival will now play host to the one and only Dalai Lama on the final day of the festival, June 28. In a now-deleted post on his holiness's website, according to reports, he announces the news saying, "His Holiness will give a talk at the Glastonbury Festival in the morning." The Dalai Lama will also be in England the next day, June 29, to give a talk. Glastonbury will take place over five days in 2015, from June 24 to 28. There has been only one artist confirmed thus far on the lineup: Lionel Richie. Richie will be playing the Sunday afternoon legends slot. "I'm really excited to play Glastonbury next year, as it's one of the most iconic festivals in the world," Richie told "The Guardian." "It has a phenomenal history and the alumni of artists who have previously played is incredible, so I'm honored to be joining that club. It will be a really special moment for me and I can't wait to share it with everyone. Additional artists have been rumored to join the lineup like Fleetwood Mac and AC/DC, but there have been no official announcements as of yet.
