While fans of The X-Files are completely over the moon because their beloved show is returning for a reboot in January, they aren't the only ones thrilled by the great news. Series star, David Duchovny recently received the very first script for the revival and he said it brought him to tears. As it turns out, he wanted it to happen just as much as the rest of us did and he is so grateful that fans have held out hope for over a decade that something as special as The X-Files could find new life on television. -
David Duchovny Confirms 'Cigarette Smoking Man,' 'Skinner' Return in 'X-Files' Reboot
David Duchovny is one of the hottest interview subjects around right now because everyone wants to hear the details on that much-anticipated reboot of 'The X-Files.' When he sat down for a chat with David Letterman, the fishing expedition was on, and from the sound of things, several familiar faces are likely to return for the limited six-episode run of the hit series. Insiders explained that "Star David Duchovny told CBS 'Late Show' host David Letterman on Tuesday[, March 31,] that the sci-fi hit's Fox reboot will include supportive clench-jawed FBI assistant director Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) and the villainous Cigarette Smoking Man (William B. Davis). This cast is not yet official. We're told the only deals in place right now are for Duchovny, co-star Gillian Anderson and creator Chris Carter. But you have to figure that Duchovny is a pretty good source of intel, right?"
