• Paula Abdul Officially Replacing Mary Murphy on 'SYTYCD', Jason Derulo Also in as New Judge

We told you recently that Mary Murphy's departure from "So You Think You Can Dance" appeared to be simply to make room for a different diva at the judging table, Paula Abdul. Today, FOX confirmed that Abdul will indeed be replacing the ballroom expert that spent more than a decade with the hit show. Also signing on the dotted line as a brand new judge is Jason Derulo. His addition to the panel actually makes a lot of sense, especially with the way that the show's format has been changed for season 12.
  • Mary Murphy Released From 'SYTYCD' Contract, Paula Abdul Rumored to Replace Her

It looks like the hot tamale train is leaving "So You Think You Can Dance" for good. After a month of rumors and speculation, Mary Murphy confirmed yesterday that her contract with the show has not been renewed. She has spent the last 11 years seated beside Nigel Lythgoe on the shows' judging panel, dissecting choreography and explaining ballroom moves to viewers at home.
  • Rumor Has It Mary Murphy May Leave 'So You Think You Can Dance': Paula Abdul Might Be In

Longtime fans of "So You Think You Can Dance" were recently thrilled to learn that the show has been picked up for a 12th season on Fox, but now comes the downside. Mary Murphy, who has been a regular face at the judges panel since Season 2, is reportedly getting ready to leave the show. Murphy and her "Hot Tamale Train" antics have played off fellow judge/co-producer Nigel Lythgoe perfectly, but sources say the show is looking for someone new to fill her seat and a familiar name is being circulated. According to a report by Deadline, Paula Abdul is being eyed by Dick Clark Productions to take the prized seat. Abdul is no stranger to the show, as she has sat in the guest judge's seat on several occasions. She also successfully worked with Lythgoe on "American Idol" for several seasons, so it is a working relationship that is already developed, which might ultimately benefit the show if Murphy really is ready to move on.
