The lawsuits against streaming companies have been coming fast and loose in the past six months and Rhapsody is the latest find themselves in the crossfire. Cracker frontman David Lowery, who filed a similar class-action suit against Spotify, is suing the streaming veteran along with co-plaintiffs and fellow songwriters David Faragher and Victor Krummenacher for infringement of mechanical royalties. -
Rhapsody Loses Double To $35.5 Million In 2015, Revenue Grows To $202 Million
One of the pioneers of streaming, Rhapsody, has unveiled its 2015 financials through RealNetworks who owns a 43 percent stake in the company. The results are mixed and show a dedication to growth over an immediate intent on profits. Losses doubled in 2015 to $35.5 million from the previous year even as its revenue rose 16. 4 percent to $202 million. -
