• BBC Drops Documentary on Royals After Prince Charles's Attorney Gets Involved

    A new documentary called "Reinventing the Royals" has originally been scheduled to premiere on BBC this coming weekend, but because of Prince Charles's overly aggressive legal team, it will likely never see the light of day. Apparently, the royal family originally believed the project was going to take a standard look at how the media and monarchy generally worked together. Instead, the project quickly began to shed light on some of the more sinister actions of the royals, and it is a view they would prefer the general public not have. "Reinventing the Royals" supposedly focuses primarily on the time after Princess Diana's tragic death in 1997. It was when Prince Charles was the least liked or respected by the British people because of his treatment of his ex-wife. He felt it necessary to reinvent himself so the public would see him as a good father to Princes William and Harry. He also wanted to sway the public perception of the woman who came between him and Diana: Camilla Parker-Bowles. Back then, Parker-Bowles was having things thrown at her when she was out in public and Charles's goal was to get people to leave her alone.

    Just about every day now we are hearing a different story about what the future may hold for Teresa Giudice in terms of work. "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star is scheduled to begin serving a 15-month sentence Jan. 5 after pleading guilty to financial fraud. The most recent season of her reality show wrapped up in October, and now Bravo executives need to figure out what they are going to do. At first it was rumored that "RHONJ" would continue on and bring back some old fan favorites to the canvas, but now it seems that Bravo is more inclined to put the series on hiatus. According to a report by Radar Online, sources close to the show are saying that network execs are fearing that without Giudice, the ratings will be dismal. Even with her there this past season, the numbers took a serious dip. Apparently, some insiders seem to think that shelving the show for a while is the best thing to do. Storylines seem to be a real problem because most of the latest additions to the cast have bored viewers into changing the channel. If "RHONJ" takes a break now and returns in 2016 with Giudice in the cast, fresh out of prison, it would likely do well. Fans of the show would want to see if jail time has changed her, and we already know that Giudice will be looking for a way to profit from her unfortunate experience. It might actually be the only way to get more mileage out of the show.

  • NBC Puts Brakes on New Cosby Comedy After Netflix Shelves Special Scheduled for Streaming Next Week

    It has been a devastating day for business in the life of comedic legend Bill Cosby. In the last several days he has watched as several old rape claims against him have been met in the media by a new rash of claims from women who have now gone on the record to tell their own alleged personal accounts of suffering at his hands. At first, Cosby's attorney simply denied that his client had done anything wrong and then insisted these old claims were baseless. But by late last night things shifted when the self-proclaimed world's first supermodel, Janice Dickinson, said Cosby had raped her back in 1982. Cosby's attorney came out swinging, but it was too late to save two new projects he has been working on. First, Netflix announced that it is shelving a special show Cosby had already filmed for it. It was scheduled to begin streaming next week and it is now on hold. If Cosby somehow pulls out of this scandal with his career at all intact, then there is a chance Netflix will show his special. Unfortunately, that is not going to be the case for Cosby's other deal. NBC was working on a new Cosby project that would have been executive produced by "The Cosby Show's" Tom Werner. In it, Cosby was supposed to star as Jonathan Franklin, head of a multigenerational family, who would use his humor and life experience to guide his daughters, sons-in-law and grandkids. It kind of sounded like an updated spin on the formula that worked so well 25 years ago. Unfortunately, it will never see the light of day because NBC has killed it completely.
