The Replacements and Rhino Records recently announced a box set that will feature all eight Mats records as well as the 1982 EP, 'Stink.' 'The Complete Studio Albums 1981-1990' is scheduled for an April 14 release, right at the beginning of the band's recently announced tour dates. As Pitchfork points out, the LPs will be the same as the remastered, special editions that were reissued in 2008. -

The Replacements reunion marches on. The legendary alternative band just announced fresh tour dates for this spring, marking their first non-festival trek in 24 years, Consequence of Sound notes. Paul Westerberg and Co. will kick things off in Seattle on April 9, making stops in Los Angeles, Denver and Detroit before wrapping the mini jaunt a month later in Philadelphia. -
Deer Tick Cover 'Meet the Beatles!' at Brooklyn Bowl with Taylor Goldsmith, Tommy Stinson [WATCH]
The rambunctious boys of Deer Tick decided to celebrate their 10th anniversary in style, forgoing a straightforward celebration and opting for shows where they play covers by their favorite artists. The band kicked things off the day after Christmas with NRBQ's "Tiddlywinks" followed by Lou Reed's "Transformer." They used the midpoint of their Brooklyn Bowl residency to pay homage to The Beatles by playing the group's second record, "Meet the Beatles!," with the help of Tommy Stinson of The Replacements, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes and James Felice of The Felice Brothers. "Rolling Stone" reviewed the gig, which had John McCauley screaming on classics like "It Won't Be Long" and "Till There Was You." Goldsmith joined in on "Don't Bother Me," Felice busted out the accordion on "Little Child," and Stinson hit the stage for what had to be a rowdy version of "I Wanna Be Your Man." According to a recent story in Rolling Stone, legendary alternative rock band the Replacements might be making plans to record a new album, which would be their first since 1990's All Shook Down. -
The Replacements Make New Lineup Clear, No News About Future After Riot Fest Reunion Shows
Not too much is known about The Replacements' plans for existence outside of a trio of Riot Fest festival dates. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune was able to confirm the band's lineup for the three dates however, another piece of information that was up for grabs as it was known original members Slim Dunlap and Steve Foley would not be present. Foley died of an prescription drug overdose in 2009, and Dunlap suffered a stroke in 2012.
