After the 2024 Lovers & Friends Festival in Las Vegas was canceled due to dangerous weather conditions, fans were understandably disheartened by the sudden change of plans.
Usher, who was set to headline the festival, also expressed his disappointment on social media, ensuring attendees knew he shared their frustration with the turn of events.
Usher Expresses Disappointment Over Lovers & Friends Festival Cancellation
The Grammy-winning singer was supposed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his iconic album, Confessions, at the star-studded music festival. Sadly, things didn't go exactly as planned.
"Mannn... I'm just as disappointed as you are. We were getting ready to turn up and celebrate today," he wrote in a tweet on X, formerly Twitter. "I have to follow the orders of city officials and the National Weather Service for everyone's protection and stand strong in my belief that everything happens for a reason. I'm sorry we won't get to see each other today, but know that I am always working on something to express my heartfelt gratitude for each and every one of you who continue to support me."
Fans on social media expressed their disappointment, even pleading for the superstar to hit a bar nearby.
"Usher please hit up one of these clubs and see if you can perform. I was really looking forward to hearing you perform that whole damn album!" a fan suggested.
"Why not move it indoors...you should always have a back up plan just in case of weather issues," another wondered.

2024 Lovers & Friends Festival Canceled
Lovers & Friends Festival organizers issued a statement less than 15 hours before the event, citing The National Weather Service's High Wind Warning on the area on May 4, 2024, at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds.
"Following advice from the National Weather Service and in consultation with local public officials, we must make the safest decision for our fans, artists, and staff, and cancel tomorrow's Lovers & Friends Festival," they said.

The organizers said that the cancellation was an "incredibly heartbreaking decision to make" as they knew that fans had traveled worldwide to watch the impeccable lineup of R&B and Hip-hop stars.
"We've worked hard to create an amazing event for you, and we are just as disappointed as you are," they added.
The organizers also shared that fans who had purchased their Lovers & Friends Festival tickets through the front gate will receive a refund within 30 days from their point of purchase.
