Country music superstar Lainey Wilson gets candid and vulnerable in the new trailer for her upcoming Hulu documentary, Lainey Wilson: Bell Bottom Country.

In the trailer, the 31-year-old singer did not hold back her tears when she recalled her grueling journey while starting her career in Nashville, Tennessee.

"I experienced a lot of rejection (and) a lot of heartache," the singer said in the trailer. "I'm a tough woman, but it's not easy. I have my days where you got to do whatever you can to crawl out of those dark holes. You're gonna feel lonely."

Elsewhere in the ABC News-produced documentary trailer about the star, she recalled feeling like she was "a fish out of water" and even receiving comments that she was "too country for country."

She also toured the audience in the documentary on what could be presumed to be her childhood home, where she recalled "crying" her "eyes out" and racking her brain about whether she would make it into the industry.

"But Mom and Daddy didn't raise no quitter," Wilson quipped.

At one point, Wilson also discussed the health scare his father experienced in 2022 and how it affected her life. She confirmed to Taste of Country in the same year that her father's health condition had improved after suffering from a stroke.

"He's doing great. He spent two months in a hospital from a fungal infection that completely took out the left side of his face," Wilson said at the time. "They had to remove his eye, and they had to remove some bones and stuff in his face. He had a stroke on top of all of that."

Around that time in 2022, she experienced huge success in her music.  Wilson's Bell Bottom Country won the 2024 Grammy Award for Best Country Album and Album of the Year at the 2023 ACM Awards and the 2023 CMA Awards.

Likewise, Wilson's career took off in 2023 and 2024 when she was hailed as the Female Artist of the Year at the 2023 ACM Awards and the Female Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year at the 2023 CMA Awards.

Lainey Wilson's documentary, Lainey Wilson: Bell Bottom Country, will start streaming on Hulu on May 29, 2024.
