In anticipation of Taylor Swift's return for The Eras Tour, industry sources have revealed to The Sun that the pop star is expected to make history for her merchandise sales soon.

According to the outlet, two insiders were surprised by the projected increase in Swift's tour merchandise sales from $250,000 in 2023.

"We have never seen this before," the sources claimed, revealing that the Asian leg of Swift's The Eras Tour has over 100,000 items online in one day. "I worked with Michael Jackson but nothing came close to what Taylor is doing."

Variety reported in December 2023 that Swift is expected to gross over $2 billion in tickets when she finishes her European tour and a short string of concerts in the United States.

The Sun reported that since 2024 started, there has been an estimated sale of $80 million from Swift's The Eras Tour merchandise.

"No other artist can even dream about making even $20 million in merchandising sales on tour," the music industry source shared. "Millions of fans have been waiting for this to happen, and they have been saving money to spend it on their favorite artist. The tour is the biggest ever, and Taylor is the most famous artist in the world, and they want to have their part of history."

Swift will start the European leg of The Eras Tour with a four-day concert in Nanterre, France, from May 9, 2024, to May 12, 2024.

When Swift finishes her European leg for The Eras Tour with Paramore, she is expected to rake in $120 million in merchandise sales alone. She will perform on sold-out shows in Portugal, France, Scotland, Ireland, England, Austria, Sweden, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and the Netherlands.

"We expect the numbers to be insanely high," the source confirmed.

Industry sources also revealed that merchandise sales alone will gross over $500 million when she returns to North America in the latter part of the year.

"Selling more than half a billion dollars of merchandising is absolutely unbelievable," the insiders added. "Taylor Swift will make history once again."

After the Europe leg, Swift will return to the United States for a string of concerts in Miami Gardens, New Orleans, and Indianapolis. She would also make her way to Canada, where she will perform for six days at Toronto's Rogers Centre and three days at Vancouver's BC Place.
