Alabama Shakes, Elle King, James Bay, Highly Suspect and Florence + The Machine are the 2016 nominees for the 58th annual Grammy Awards Best Rock Song category -- but only one artist can take home the prize. We'll get to see which of these talents shines at the Grammys Monday, February 15, on CBS, but we're taking a look at who should win as opposed to who will most likely win.

"Don't Wanna Fight" -- Alabama Shakes
"Ex's and Oh's" -- Elle King
"Hold Back the River" -- James Bay
"Lydia" -- Highly Suspect
"What Kind of Man" -- Florence + The Machine

WHO SHOULD WIN: "Don't Wanna Fight"

Bay's "Hold Back the River" is a very accomplished song, but it's more of a singer-songwriter composition rather than a rock n' roll tune, while "Lydia" by Highly Suspect (who is this band and why haven't I heard more about them?) is essentially the Black Keys of this year. That's not a bad thing, but it won't work for the Grammy voters. Meanwhile, Elle King is a pop star. Florence + the Machine will probably win the "Performance" category, but as a song, "What Kind of Man" is just a repeated hook.

"Don't Wanna Fight" is a song that can turn a music journalist that was so sick of the Alabama Shakes into a genuine fan. Honestly, this happened to me today!

WHO WILL WIN: "Don't Wanna Fight"

Honestly, this category is really only between Florence + the Machine and the Alabama Shakes, considering they're both commercially viable acts and their songs fit into the rock genre enough to please fans. I believe the Grammy will go to Alabama Shakes' "Don't Wanna Fight," though, because it is a great example of songwriting and the essence of rock n' roll. The other songs are either pop or something else, as I stated above.
