MTV has confirmed that Ariana Grande will perform "Side to Side" at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards together with Nicki Minaj.

Aside from the live performance, the two pop stars will also unveil the music video for the Dangerous Woman track.

The television channel made the announcement through a new promotional video for the VMAs.

"When you take the take the stage at the VMAs, you step into another world," Grande says in the video. "The drama, the design, the artistry ignites fire. It's this kind of energy that perpetuates creativity and gives me the power to share my voice in a way that's never been heard before."

"Because it's not just a performance, it's a statement," she added.

According to ET Online's source, fans will be surprised by Grande and Minaj's performance at the upcoming awards show. The insider claimed that viewers will get to see a different side of Grande at the event.

The "Into You" singer also revealed that the music video for "Side to Side" will premiere on Aug. 28, the same date as the MTV VMAs. Through a couple of Instagram posts, Grande shared muted teasers from the music video and said that the full version of the clip will premiere on Sunday night.

This year's MTV VMAs will be held at the Madison Square Garden, Billboard reported. Aside from Minaj and Grande, other artists who will perform at the event include Britney Spears, Nick Jonas, G-Eazy and Rihanna.

Kim Kardashian West, Alicia Keys, Fifth Harmony, Jaden Smith and Sean "Diddy" Combs will also participate in the event as presenters.
