Jennifer Lopez will be reappearing on Will & Grace during the show's reboot. The singer/actress is slated to play two roles on the popular show.
Returning Twice Over
Delighting fans of the long-running series, J-Lo is set to return to a dual role this time around. Lopez will guest star both as herself and as Harlee Santos, her character from fellow NBC show Shades Of Blue.
The popular crime drama focuses on Santos, a tough-as-nails NYPD detective and single mother drafted to work for the FBI.Ray Liotta stars alongside her as her colleague, a crooked cop and the focus of the investigation.
All further details about Lopez's return to Will & Grace are being kept firmly under wraps for the time being. However, it's easy to imagine Santos getting frustrated with the show's more flamboyant characters, particularly Karen (Megan Mullally) and Jack (Sean Hayes). Viewers may even be in for a proper New York tussle, given Santos' tightly-wound nature.
J-Lo originally appeared in Will & Grace's sixth season as herself. Through a series of escalating events, she became the singer at Karen's wedding to Lyle Finster played by legendary Monty Python actor John Cleese. The episode is perhaps most memorable for giving Jack his big moment to live out his dream as one of her backup dancers.
It also gave Lopez the opportunity to send herself up in hilarious fashion, with her character demanding everybody wear her latest "Glow" perfume.
She's no stranger to guest spots either, having shown up on How I Met Your Mother back in 2010. She took on the roles of the hilariously over-the-top feminist author Anita Appleby, whose book is titled Of Course You're Still Single, Take a Look at Yourself You Dumb S**t.
In that case, J-Lo's character was responsible for teaching serial womanizer Barney a tough life lesson, albeit, in a roundabout way. She may be on course to teach Jack a thing or two this time around.
Resurrecting An Old Reliable
Will & Grace originally hit screens on NBC in 1998. Its groundbreaking premise saw gay lawyer Will (Eric Mc Cormack) living, in a suitably glamorous TV-style apartment in New York, with straight fashion designer Grace (Debra Messing).
Although fans have seen more LGBT characters onscreen in the years since then, the show still remains one of the most important and beloved of its kind.
Will & Grace was a massive hit, winning 16 Emmy Awards over its hugely successful 8-year run. It was resurrected in September of 2017, to massive fan acclaim, and soon became NBC's most-watched comedy show in over ten years.
J-Lo's return to the show is sure to push it even further into the stratosphere. Twice over.
