The HBO biopic of Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco is moving forward with Jennifer Lopez in a starring role despite previous reports of Catherine Zeta-Jones getting the job.

If you were among the many who got excited after reading the October 2014 Deadline report stating Golden Globe nominee, Catherine Zeta-Jones, was set to take on the role of Colombian "queen-pin" Griselda Blanco in an upcoming biopic, then you may or may not be disappointed to hear that it's not going to happen.

That all depends on how you feel about Rebirth singer, Jennifer Lopez, taking on the role instead.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, J. Lo will not only star in the upcoming crime story based on the life of Blanco, but is also set to executive produce the project.

Only in its development stages, the HBO biopic tentatively titled The Cocaine Godmother, will document the rise and fall of one of the most feared and prominent female drug cartel members of all time between the 1970s and 1980s.

Not only has the lead role been switched from the initial 2014 report but, it seems the formerly stated producers and directors have also been swapped out for new talents.

Lopez's production banner Nuyorican is set to take on the project along with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Benny Medina, and Julie and Rick Yorn of LBI Entertainment, according to THR.

Only two short years ago, it was reported that Daniela Cretu was set to produce for her First Born Films banner, with Nicholas Pileggi as executive producer, as reported by Deadline.

So what just happened?

Or better yet, who do you think would present the best representation of Cartagena, Colombia born Blanco - former teenage runaway, prostitute, cocaine dealer, 14-year prisoner and mother of four?

Intolerable Cruelty star Zeta-Jones?

Or, The Boy Next Door actress/singer/dancer, Jenny from the block?
