Throughout Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship, there have been naysayers who accused the NFL star of using the mega pop superstar to boost his fame. More recently, sports TV personality Stephen A. Smith expressed his true feelings about this issue and it appears that he got Kelce's back.

The sports expert recently appeared in an interview with Howard Stern where the radio host seemingly alluded the Kansas City Chiefs athlete is using the musician for her fame as she's currently the biggest pop star in the planet.

During the conversation, Stern said that Kelce "has to marry Taylor Swift" for him to enter the movie industry and become "bigger than The Rock."

Stephen A. Smith Defends Travis Kelce

Smith replied and it appeared that he didn't like what the radio personality said as he laid out the athlete's accomplishements that he got on his own.

"He is a two-time Super Bowl champion, he's on the verge of potentially being a three-time Super Bowl champion... Universally recognized as one of the greatest tight ends in the history of football. Good looking dude, got style, got flair, got skills. He's got a future in this business," the sports personality said. (via Billboard)

He further noted that Kelce is the "total package" and he's a "good dude."

Although he defended the NFL athlete, he went on to praise Swift for her talent in music as he revealed that he himself attended one of her Eras Tour concerts at the So-Fi Stadium.

"She was phenomenal... I saw Taylor Swift receive a nine-minute standing ovation in between songs ... I'm telling you right now, no one was sitting down," he said.

Smith noted that even though he's 56 years old, he stood up for three and a half hours just to watch the musician perform and he never sat down.

Not the First Time Stephen A. Smith Defended Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift

This was not the first time the TV sports personality defended the couple from negative comments because there was a time when the musician was criticized for being too distracting whenever she attends her boyfriend's game.

However, Smith believe that she has a "positive impact" rather than a negative one.

"She's going to support her dude... To show up at a football game and the cameras are on her - that ain't her fault!" he said.
