Celine Dion's battle with Stiff-Person Syndrome had her loyal legion fans around the world gripped at the edge of their seats. The iconic vocalist's silent battle with her rare neurological disease will be chronicled in a new documentary acquired by Amazon MGM.

The documentary film, "I Am Celine Dion" will be released on Prime Video at a yet-to-be-announced date.

Celine Dion Documentary About Stiff-Person Syndrome

Celine Dion's health condition has been the cause of worry of many fans of her worldwide.

After revealing that her health is on a decline last December 2022, fans have since showered her with prayers. She has since postponed and then eventually canceled her world tour altogether to give way for her recovery.

"While we're still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what's been causing all of the spasms that I've been having," she painfully admitted in a video. "Unfortunately, the spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I'm used to."

In a statement, Amazon MGM shared more insight about the upcoming Celine Dion documentary.

"Celine Dion is a global megastar with a career defined not only by her extraordinary work ethic and passion, but by her dedication to her fans,"Amazon MGM Studios Head Jennifer Salke said in a statement obtained by Variety. "This documentary is a raw, intimate portrayal of a pivotal time in her personal life and career, pulling back the curtain on her journey as she overcomes an unthinkable diagnosis."

The Celine Dion documentary about her Stiff-Person Syndrome was announced to be directed by Sundance Award-winning director Irene Taylor whose credits include "Leave No Trace: A Hidden History of the Boy Scout" and "Trees and Other Entanglements."

The already-made documentary was produced with Sony Music Entertainment Canada, and Vermilion Films, among many others.

Celine Dion Stiff Person Syndrome Health Update

Speaking to Tele 2 Semaines on Jan. 24, 2024, Claudette Dion, Celine's sister, revealed that she had notice Celine Dion's symptoms as early as 2021. (via Hello Magazine)

"We know she's supported, she's an intelligent woman and we're not worried. We're not worried, because if it was very serious, we'd know about it," she admitted, before saying that she suffered from "leg cramps" which she described to be "a kind of twisted foot that's giving her muscle spasms in the leg".

She began experiencing this as early as the summer of 2021 in Quebec when she was in vacation with her children.
