This week, a mysterious billboard featuring heavy metal band Slipknot popped up in Indio Valley, California.

Fans have several theories. Could this billboard be a hint that the nine-person collective will perform a secret set at the upcoming Coachella Valley Arts and Music Festival? The festival celebrated its first weekend from April 12 to 14; this upcoming weekend will be the second half of the show.

A photo of the billboard was posted to the Slipknot subreddit (r/slipknot) by a fan. The post thanked the user for heading all the way out "to snag us a clear shot of the mysterious Slipknot billboard!"

"The clues are piling up! What a fun puzzle, I hope I can make it in the show!" reads one comment on the Reddit post. Another user wrote, "chances are they might either be doing knotfest there or a huge one night show."

The billboard features the band's logo in bright white letters. The words "One Night Only" and "Long May You Die" flanks the logo.

The website "youcantkillme.com" is written beneath the logo. The website links to an old, 1990s style webpage that advertises "Internet Explorer 4.0" and "Netscape 4.0." A sassy message at the bottom reads, "If you find any broken links or bugs on this website, do not email me. I do not care, thank you."

The site features a biography page, a guestbook, a compilation of lyrics, links to songs from their 1999 self-titled record and tour dates. This year is the 25th anniversary of Slipknot.

The biography provides an extensive history about the band, detailing their history as a group. They refer to themselves as "a highly, highly aggressive band." The summary concludes: "The "sh--" is wrapped up in a pretty little package called Slipknot. It's the discordant sound of the middle of nowhere, a terrain where Slipknot is jester and king..."

The website blares music by the band on each page. It also curiously reads that the website was last updated on April 25, 2024. However, April 25 is still a week away. Could the group throw a surprise One Night Only show on the 25th?

Slipknot is scheduled to tour across Europe in December. This spring and summer, the group will perform throughout the United States before heading to Brazil in the fall for KNOTFEST Brasil. They will also be performing at multiple music festivals: Sick New World, Welcome to Rockville, Sonic Temple, Rocklahoma, Louder Than Life and Aftershock.

Knotfest is a touring and destination music festival that stretches across the world from the United States all the way to Japan, with other locations including Germany, Mexico and Australia. The festival was created in 2012 by Slipknot and their manager, Cory Brennan. Brennan is also the CEO of 5B Artist Management. Notable acts who have performed at Knotfest include Of Mice & Men, Deftones, Five Finger Death Punch and Bring me the Horizon.

Slipknot fans also believe that the billboard could be teasing a One Night Only performance at Coachella itself.
