When Coco Rocha first began modeling back in 2004, models were basically seen and rarely heard. They were props for clothing and the media often gave the impression that the had little of value to actually say. Rocha was one of a newer crop of cat-walkers that proved they could have a career on their own terms. For Rocha that has meant being very selective about the kind of shoots that she was willing to do. She has notoriously refused to do any kind of nudity or model swimsuits or lingerie, something she has chalked up to her beliefs as a Jehovah's Witness.

Rocha has recently been promoting her new collaborative book, The Study of the Pose and she recently reflected on her decade in the business, saying, "You learn everywhere in this business. After 10 years of modeling, I feel comfortable saying what I do and don't want to do, and many respect that. I'm a perfect example of what you can do given opportunity. My end goal wasn't to be famous. It was to enjoy what I was doing. I thought it was a fascinating industry. I have had a successful career. I became famous, but that was secondary. If your goal is to model, and you have things you believe in, you can make your own path to success."

In early October Rocha also revealed that she and her husband of four years, James Conran are expecting their first child next spring.

"Pregnancy has been great. I wasn't sick. I'm definitely tired. I'm excited to grow a bump and experience everything that every pregnant woman experiences. I want to find out what sex it's going to be and make up the nursery and all of that. James and I are wondering who this person is going to be, whose nose will have it" said Rocha.

Do you think Rocha's success has been a fluke or do you believe that her path to success- simply looking for something that she enjoyed- can work for people in various professions as well? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
