Alternative blues-rock brother duo The Winter Brave are set to release their upcoming EP The Hand You Never Seem To Lend this summer, but you can listen to their new single "Meet You There" now, exclusively on Music Times.
Hailing from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the band received international attention when Nirvana and Foo Fighters member Dave Grohl mentioned the brothers in a post on Reddit during an "Ask Me Anything." Soon after, The Winter Brave started gaining tens of thousands of followers on Facebook and Soundcloud. Metaphors, their first EP, became the bestselling album on Bandcamp. The band thanked all of their new followers in a Reddit post where they said, "To know that our bands music was played for Dave Grohl's ears had us shaking."
The new infectous single, "Meet You There," adds a pop sensibility to a mostly alternative rock EP and will surely have audiences singing a long in no time.
"'Meet You There'" is definitely the most poppy song on the EP. We wrote this song a while ago and really liked it," said The Winter Brave members, Sam and Jake Scarpino.
"At first we were concerned that it didn't necessarily sound like any of the songs from our last couple of releases, but during our demoing process we were able to make it more cohesive with the rest of our songs," they explained. "This marks a first with us in that it not only uses an acoustic guitar, but we have some omnichord in the choruses and some other fun effects that we never played around with before. The new album sort of embraces those changes to our sound, while still staying true to the high-energy rock that we're known for."
