Steve Aoki and Bill Nye collaborating on a track. That is something you probably didn't expect when Bill Nye The Science Guy was schooling kids all across the United States with his wit, humor and ability to simplify complex subjects on PBS. He has become an outspoken champion of champion of science, notably the fight against climate change in popular culture and more recently a fan of electronic music, which has led him into the welcoming arms of Steve Aoki. This has developed from a friendship to a working relationship where they have written a song titled "Noble Gas" that could appear on the "I Love It When You Cry" producer's next album.

In a new interview with Fast Company, the two talk about fusing science and music, which comes naturally for electronic music as it is so grounded on technology, especially new technology.

According to the article, Nye wrote a science-themed song for Aoki's next album, the follow up to his two-part Neon Future series. It is titled "Noble Gas" and it set to the theme of The Twilight Zone.

"A strange and astonishing but provable fact is that you and I are made of the stuff of the cosmos," Nye says. "We are made of exploded stars and other rogue drifting-around material. Carbon, oxygen, iron-what's more fun than that? The Noble Gas song would start with exploding super novae, then lead to us. And that means that the fact that you and I are made of stardust is one of the ways that the universe knows itself."

Bill Nye's relationship with dance music goes at least a few months back. At the Life Is Beautiful festival in Las Vegas Nye joined the Discovery Project winner, Ryan Lofty at the EDM-themed Troubadour Stage.
