The recent buyout of Beats Electronics by Apple won't affect Trent Reznor's role with the audio brand, or at least nothing has been decided yet that would put the Nine Inch Nails frontman outside the company. The performer's spokesperson responded to reports that Reznor was leaving the company: "They're all false."

The rumors that Reznor was done with Beats have been reported as rumors all the way down the line, without anyone confirming it as fact. Music Times turned to Consequence of Sound, which featured a link to a USA Today story that also reported the story as a rumor.

The rocker has had a rocky relationship with Apple in the past, which might have added fuel to the fire. Nine Inch Nails created an app to accompany its classic 1994 album The Downward Spiral, which Apple promptly banned from its iTunes store for its foul language. Reznor lashed out at the company for the ban, while it still allowed thousands of obscene songs to exist on its iTunes catalogue. Then again, Reznor also had less than kind words for Soundgarden when the album originally debuted during the same week as the grunge band's Superunknown, but now the two groups are touring together this summer. In short: Reznor has yelled at a lot of people and has gotten over much of it.

Reznor began working for Beats officially during January of 2013, taking over as Chief Creative Officer and working to curate the company's Beats Radio service. Reznor had stated his issues with other streaming services and their inability to introduce new music to a listener, a problem he aimed to fix with Beats Radio.

It seems that he can continue striving toward that goal despite the buyout.
