Mike Eli and Darius Rucker perform during the Fifth annual 'Darius and Friends' concert at Wildhorse Saloon on June 2, 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Earlier this week, Darius Rucker hosted his 5th annual Darius and Friends Benefit Concert to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Darius kicked off the show with his #1 single "Alright" and followed that up with "Comeback Song." As his friends took their turns on stage, they included the singer too. Cassadee Pope invited Darius to join her on the famous Johnny Cash/June Carter duet "Jackson." Kenny Rogers asked him to join in when he sang his classic hit, "Lucille." The night ended with all of the artists joining Darius as he sang his hit, "Wagon Wheel."

The sold out event was a huge success. Together with the golf tournament he hosted the next day, Darius raised $95,260 for St. Jude. But none of that mattered to the guy at the door at the Red Door in Nashville. When Darius and some of his friends arrived at popular club for the after party that was being held in his honor, he was turned away because he had left his wallet (with his ID in it) on the bus! Though he is a pretty famous face in Nashville and there were others who could definitely verify that he was a.) the real Darius Rucker and b.) over 21, the bouncer was non-plussed. Classy man that he is, Rucker didn't pull the "star" card and make a scene. Instead, it's reported that he told the bouncer that he understood he was just doing his job, and left to go to another bar - where you can bet your next paycheck, they let him and his pals in.

While rules are rules, can you imagine how much money the other bar brought in that night once word got around that Darius Rucker was there? Can you imagine how much proverbial egg is on the face of the Red Door owners now that their establishment will be forever known as the place that wouldn't let Darius Rucker into his own after party? Bet they won't put that on one of their t-shirts!
