Vince Staples has announced his new Prima Donna EP via Instagram, which is slated to be released on Aug. 26 through Def Jam/Atrium/Blacksmith records. Prima Donna follows his Summertime ’06 album that was released this past summer.

The new EP will bring back rapper Kilo Kish, who was featured twice on Summertime ’06 on the tracks “Dopeman” and “Surf” as well as A$AP Rocky according to Billboard. The EP is being produced by DJ Dahi, James Blake and the big boss at Atrium, No I.D., who originally signed Staples to Def Jam.

“Vince has really begun to establish himself as an artist’s artist and a new voice for the new generation,” No I.D. said in a press release.

There will additionally be a short film added to the EP directed by Nabil Elderkin, who also works with Kanye West, Frank Ocean and Bruno Mars. Elderkin can be credited with directing West’s music video for “Paranoid,” Ocean’s “Swim Good” video and the video for “Grenade” by Mars. In a keep it real twist, 5,000 copies of Prima Donna will be available as vinyl and signed by the artist himself.

The EP is available to preorder this upcoming Friday, Aug. 19.

The release of his EP comes as a relief to fans considering the rapper said in an interview last December that he might be retiring from hip-hop in a few years although he is one of the genre's hottest new names.

"You're out of your goddamn mind if you think I'm going to be doing this music sh*t for more than two years," he said in an interview with California Sunday Magazine while doing a profile. "And let me really get some money? If I get some in the next six months, you'll never see me again."
