In the next episode of "Criminal Minds," Season 13, a dead body turns up in a suitcase and the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) is called on to investigate. Apparently, the murderer lures his victims to his home and then kills them. Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) thinks that the killer experiences moments of rage but eventually becomes extremely tender with his victims.

The episode titled “To a Better Place,” becomes even stranger when it turns out that the suspected killer’s grandmother is involved with the murders. It seems that the purported victim is first introduced to her by the killer before being killed according to TV Guide. Will the team be able to stop the killer before more women are killed?

“Criminal Minds” Season 13 kicked off last week with two major deaths including one member of the BAU. Very early in the episode, Agent Stephen Walker (Damon Gupton) was revealed to have not survived the vehicle crash in last season’s shocking finale. But, this was something already expected by the show’s fans after news of Gupton’s exit from the show due to a cast shake-up was announced this summer.

Also in the “Criminal Minds” Season 13 premiere, the BAU finally was able to locate the psychotic villain Peter Lewis aka Mr. Scratch (Bodhi Elfman). Walker’s death is just one of the many problems he has caused the team. Scratch forced Hotch (Thomas Gibson) into Witness Protection and nearly killed Tara’s (Aisha Tyler) brother. He was also responsible in Reid’s being in prison in Mexico last season reports Cartermatt.

Last week in “Criminal Minds” Season 13, Scratch tried to torture Prentiss (Paget Brewster) into revealing where Hotch was while under Witness Protection. But, Prentiss was able to reason out her way from Scratch’s delusion that led to his being cornered by the team.

Scratch tried to escape from the fire escape of a building but the metal stairs gave way. He tried to latch on the ledge but could not hold on for much longer. Scratch fell to his death even while Alvez (Adam Rodriguez) tried to save him.

Hotch could return to his team now that Scratch is dead but he opted to retire instead. As a result, Rossi (Joe Mantegna) became the new head of the BAU. “Criminal Minds” Season 13 airs every Wednesday 10 p.m. EDT on CBS.
